    chumby

I bought a Chumby. I find it amazingly useful and extensible. I definitely recommend it. And yes, it’s Open.

    What my Chumby currently displays:

    1. Upcoming events from the Fridge (via rss)
    2. The latest News from the Fridge (via rss)
    3. The latest Planet Ubuntu Posts (via rss)
    4. LED Clock
    5. Weather
    6. Google News

Chumby has an ever growing list of widgets so you’ll never get bored. 10 points to the first person who makes a Fridge widget. :-)

Hi Everyone. The Fridge has a new look. We completed a rather complex software upgrade today and deployed the first pass at the new theme. There is still some theme tweaking to be done (favicon, font sizes, etc), some old bugs to be fixed (repeating events and ical feed issue), and some new features to be added (It’s a surprise!). These will be happening over the next several weeks so stay tuned. If you see NewZ (newz2000) be sure to thank him and tell him how much you like the updates. He did the heavy lifting. Enjoy!

Who says Eclipse has to be an IDE? Why not make it an ICE? The folks over at Collanos have done just that with Collanos Workplace. They’ve created a secure peer to peer collaborative environment whereby all the data is stored only on team members’ computers.

“Every team project entails countless emails, messages, documents, tasks, comments, versions, revisions, approvals, etc. With Collanos Workplace you can overcome this information clutter by having a single space to share, interact and collaborate with your team.”

Updated code from OpenSound has enabled the Barracuda AC-1 in Gutsy.  You can follow my previous Feisty post to get this working.  Gutsy requires oss-linux_v4.0-1006_i368.deb or later.  And the rear speakers work now too. :-)   Hello 5.1! Enjoy.
