Carl from System76 brought a new, not yet released, laptop with him to the NCLUG meeting tonight. It’s a MacBook killer. I tried to convince Carl that it should be called the iBuntu or the Ubooktu but they have already thrown a dart and picked a name. I’ve already put my order in.

I’m planning to buy a laptop somewhere this year. So, the suspense is killing me…
Can you convince him to ship it to the Netherlands for a good price? (I mean, you know what us Dutch people are like once money is concerned)

Sorry, I can’t release anything specific. However, I can say that I sent System76 my wishlist config for an new laptop and they hit every single point except DVI-out.

you know if they make it smaller/lighter every female linux user will be thrilled and offer up. . .well, lots of good feelings.

Pretty Cool. I think the System76 Guys are onto a good thing. 2 more solid releases of Ubuntu and we might have something.
Now I am a huge mac Fan and for my money there is nothing out there that can replace MacOSX, then again I could spark a new war with that comment, but I like to think that MacOSX guys and linux guys are in the same boat.
System76 has a real nice line up. They are going to do really well if thy just keep getting the word out that they are around.
